Hi everyone, Been really thinking of owning a Panerai for quite some time now, and i think the time may have finally come :) Of the research ive done, and. We'll I was about to pull the trigger on a Pam 312, but then saw the 392 which is 42mm, no numeral 9, same movement, 10 bar instead of 30. Is it a no brainier to get a 392 for wrist size of 6.5"? Any perks of the 312 other than water resistance?
Rolex Forums - Rolex Watch Forum > Other (non-Rolex) Watch Topics > Panerai Discussion Forum > Other (non-Rolex) Watch Topics > Panerai Discussion Forum I am new to Panerai and I like these two watches. I have tried them on but still not sure which one looks better. I have a pretty thin wrist, but both.
As I spent time on this forum (and others), there are a lot of stories of guys saying that sold their PAM 392 because it "was too thick at 17mm" or "wore heavy", etc. Compared to a PAM 312, the 392 case is still 2mm narrower and 1mm thinner. So I started looking at alternatives, and I found the PAM 392, which is a downsized 42mm version of the PAM 312, with the same movement, same type of case, etc. (the difference in design compared to the PAM 312 is the lack of the 9 numeral, which in my personal opinion, is even better, as the 3 is also missing on the other side, due to the date). Luckily the case doesn't fit me, as I can't choose between the three. I like the all-polished case and arabics of the 359, the Ti and tobacco and gold hands of the 351, and the clean lines of the 312. If I really had to choose, 351, but ask me in two days, and I'll probably have changed my mind. The movement of PAM 312 is Calibre P.9000 which is one of Panerai's first in house movements. Plus, the point is that it comes with a power reserve of 72 hours which is an ample amount of coverage. The second hand has quite a smooth movement and beats at 4Hz/28,800bpm.
Pros for the 512: elegant and understated case; vintage hued lume; non-wire lugs; I've always had a soft spot for Radiomor Panerai watches. Cons for the 512: no date complication, doesn't have a look. The 392 is Caliber P.9000 Automatic with a 3 day power reserve.Page 2- First PAM: 312 or 392 ????
